ANDROID 8.0 OREO IS LAUNCHED
Google has officially launched the upcoming version of its Android 8.0 which is called Oreo. Oreo brings several interesting features including picture-in-picture mode, which will enable users to watch a video in a re sizable and movable small window top of any other app.
Security – Android O is more secure than ever with Google Play Protect, along with your device’s Security status built into Settings front and center.
Speed – With Android O, you can get started on your favorite tasks quicker than ever, with a faster boot speed when powering up. Up to twice as fast on Pixel, in fact.
Battery – By limiting the background of activity of less-used apps, Android O lets you spend more time on what’s most important — while also freeing up memory.
Google Play Protect detects and removes harmful apps ― scanning more than 50 billion apps on 2 billion devices a day.
Find My Device makes it easy to remote locate, lock, or wipe your device.
New app installs controls and enhanced privacy protections, plus improved security against potentially harmful apps.
Google Play Protect is fully enabled on all Android devices running version 4.2 or later
Android 8.0 Oreo is shipping out across all the usual distribution methods. The Android Open Source Project (AOSP) is getting the 8.0 code drop. OTAs will begin to roll out “soon” to the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C, and system images should be up on developers.google.com soon.
